Privacy
Last updated 26 October 2026.
This notice explains how UP Football (Unique Performance Football) uses the personal information you give us. If you have any questions, email Gavin@up-coaching.com.
What we collect
When you message us to book, we receive your name and phone number, and anything you choose to tell us, such as your child's first name and age, the session you want, and their playing level or medical needs.
Why we use it
- To reply to your request, arrange sessions and contact you about them.
- To coach your child safely. Medical information is only used so our coaches can look after your child during sessions, and you choose whether to share it.
We use this information because you have asked us to arrange coaching (a contract with you) and, for medical information, because you have chosen to give it to us so we can keep your child safe.
Who sees it
Only the UP Football coaches. We never sell your information or share it for marketing. Bookings are made through WhatsApp, which is run by Meta under its own privacy policy. Messages are end-to-end encrypted.
How long we keep it
If your child does not go on to train with us, we delete your messages within 12 months. If they do, we keep your details while they attend and for up to 12 months after their last session, unless we need to keep something longer by law.
Photos and reviews
We only publish a child's photo, name or review with written permission from their parent or guardian, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email Gavin@up-coaching.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Safeguarding
Last updated 26 October 2026.
Every child who trains with UP Football has the right to be safe, respected and protected from harm. Their welfare comes before everything else we do, including results and performance.
Who to contact
Our safeguarding lead is Gavin Cogdon. If you are worried about a child, or about anything that happens at our sessions, contact Gavin on 07947 204072 or Gavin@up-coaching.com.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. You can also speak to the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 or to your local council's children's services.
What we do to keep children safe
- Every session has enough coaches for the number of children taking part, so every child is properly supervised.
- Children are only handed back to their parent, guardian or someone the parent has told us about in advance.
- Coaches communicate with parents about younger players, not privately with children.
- We ask parents to tell us about any medical needs, and only use that information to keep the child safe.
- Sessions are adapted to each child's age and ability. Strength and conditioning is always age-appropriate and focused on moving well.
- We never publish a child's photo, name or story without written permission from their parent or guardian.
What our coaches will always do
- Treat every child fairly, with respect and encouragement.
- Use positive coaching. No shouting at, shaming or singling out children.
- Keep any physical contact to what is needed to coach or keep a child safe, and explain it first.
- Take every concern seriously, record it and act on it.
If a child tells a coach something worrying
The coach will listen calmly, will not promise to keep it secret, will write down what was said as soon as possible and will pass it straight to the safeguarding lead. Where needed, we will refer it to children's services or the police.
Review
We review this policy at least once a year, and after any safeguarding concern.
Terms
Last updated 26 October 2026.
These terms apply to all UP Football (Unique Performance Football) sessions. By booking a session you agree to them.
Booking
Sessions are booked by message with our coaches. A place is only confirmed once a coach has confirmed it with you. How and when to pay is agreed at the time of booking.
Cancelling or moving a session
Football sessions are a set weekly slot. They can't be moved to a different slot. We try to offer mop-up sessions for missed sessions, but can't guarantee them.
Strength and conditioning sessions can be moved with at least 24 hours' notice. We'll try to fit your child in another slot that week.
Cancelling: please give at least 24 hours' notice. With less than 24 hours' notice, a missed session can't be refunded or moved.
If we have to cancel a session, for example because of severe weather or an unsafe playing surface, we will tell you as soon as possible and offer another session or a refund for that session.
Health and fitness to take part
Please tell us before the first session about any medical condition, injury or allergy we should know about, and keep us updated if anything changes. Make sure your child brings any medication they need, such as an inhaler. Please do not bring a child who is unwell or injured.
Arriving and collection
Please arrive around 10 minutes before the session and collect your child on time. Coaches are responsible for children only during the session itself. Tell us in advance if someone else will be collecting your child.
Behaviour
We expect players, parents and guardians to treat coaches, other players and each other with respect. We may ask a player to sit out, or end a booking, if their behaviour puts others at risk or repeatedly disrupts sessions.
Injury
Football and physical training carry some risk of injury. Our coaches plan sessions to keep that risk low. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Photos and video
We may film or photograph sessions for coaching feedback. We only publish a child's photo, name or video with written permission from their parent or guardian.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
